Magda Carlos-Trevino
Olathe, KS

Magda Carlos-Trevino, 35, has a goal to champion self-empowerment so that ALL people have a fulfilling life. She wants to ensure that every individual has the tools and confidence to lead an independent life without ever losing sight of their personal or cultural identity. Magda is proud of her various identities, including being a person with Spina Bifida and a proud Mexican-American Latina. Magda, who is married and lives in Olathe, currently works as a Bilingual Customer Service Specialist at WinPro Solutions Inc. and is the Founder/President/CEO of MS Consulting & Training. She previously worked as a Community Specialist for El Centro Inc. and within the International and Immigrant Student Services office at Johnson County Community College. Magda obtained an Administrative Assistant Certificate from JCCC in 2023. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, and is a current Bachelor's degree candidate for Nonprofit Organization Management. Magda currently serves as the Secretary of the Statewide Independent Living Council of Kansas, and is a Board Member of Spina Bifida of Kansas and the Transportation for All Kansas Coalition. She is also a Team Captain for the Latino Community Network, was involved at JCCC in the Student Senate, and was the President of the All In student group. Magda has been a Kansas Promise Scholarship Recipient and Outstanding Student Award Recipient, as well as participated in the Cavalier Leadership Development Program and Ms. Wheelchair Kansas in 2017, 2023, and 2025. She describes herself as adaptable, a believer, a connector, determined, and empathetic. Magda has had various opportunities to travel throughout America breaking stereotypes against people with disabilities. She is passionate about voting and wants to move the disability community from the sidelines to the center of civic life. Magda is an avid "people watcher" who understands and wants to share the unspoken needs of our diverse communities!
